An epic hike on an epic memorial day in hatcher's pass

I don't have much to say, the weather has been so beautiful lately. I resolved to get out since I'm all alone at home this week. I did some homework and decided to go to Hatcher's pass and do a hike. This is called Reed lake, it's an 8 mile hike into a beautiful mountain valley. I met some really cool guys who were just finishing a 3 day, 15 mile hike up over these mountains, and a wolverine. He and I basked in the sun on some rocks near a beaver damn overlooking the Matsu valley. Good day.

If you look closely in the upper left, you'll see my wolverine friend, he's probably 20yards away, fixing his den.

There are a bunch of boulders at the base of this valley, I climbed one an took a nap.

Whatever, it's spring.

Well, my body says it's springtime but the weather disagrees. Such is life I suppose. We've been having a grand ole time going crazy indoors. We force ourselves to get out, whenever the sun shows its face, even though it's only 40 degrees. Here are a few digital delights to catch you up to speed.
The moose are out and about, humping and eating everything in sight.

This one wanted to eat our barbecue!

Over my so-called "spring break", we put in new floors in the bedroom, and painted anything that wasn't nailed down.

We got a new puppy, officially named Chairman Mao, but we call him Moosie.

The girls and I made a birdhouse.

Alyvia's front tooth is literally hanging by a thread in her mouth.

Ainsley, who is growing up way too fast, mastered the patented Davis picture pose.

She is also nearly housebroke. Every time we put her in panties after making a doo doo in the toilet, she immediately pees on the floor. Between her and the puppy, Lisa is about to have an anurism over all of the "fecal bacteria in this house!"

It's spring and that means, dying, hiding and eating boiled eggs!

Recently, Moose clawed Milo's nose and it got infected, so he's on antibiotics and pain killers with a swollen nose. Moose is keenly taking advantage of his Achilles heel.

He really exudes bravery and resolve, with just a hint of serial killer for excitement.

es el endo of a la blog. ciao ya later

Dang! It feels like spring all'asudden.

Here's a few pics of the last few weeks, there have been a few events that a few people attended.

Alyvia's birthday party at "bouncin' bears" aka "dark den of germs and potential lawsuits".

Lisa digs it, she has more fun than the kids.

Grandma bought noisemakers, they didn't go over so well in the concrete hallway that was the "party room".

Nice!

What a pretty homemade cake! Nice work Lisa, it was the hit of the party.

Lisa, really thinkin' hard.

Lisa's new Girl Scout uniform! She's really getting into this stuff.

The new puppy, named Moose. I don't like the name but was bullied into it.

He likes Lisa but he knows who's boss.

Warming up in my coat.

Alyvia, hamming.

Man oh man, there's a couple of great lookin' boys!

And his brood isn't so bad either... hehe. Alyvia got these fake teeth at a bday party, Ainsley couldn't wait to try them out. The feeling spread and the girls and I had a good laugh.

This is what 2 years in AK will get you...laid!

Frightening, and surprisingly common.

Random cute Ainsley face.

A reflection of "My old man"

My favorite pic of us. We are so young.

J.D. in Italy.

Jefferson and bulldog Lyvi.

Jefferson and Jess flying high over the seas somewhere
near Italy.

Jefferson and I in D.C.

Practicing the crane in the Cayman's.

We love our Dad, he is so rad.

Jefferson loves his girls so much.

True dirty Jefferson style, fishing in Juneau.

Our now 32 year old Dad. Happy Birthday!
Love you Dad and my honey.

Birthday Fever! A star is born

A loving father's shameless bday plug...don't forget it's Alyvia-Rose's 6th birthday February 10th! Here are some pics of recent events. Do enjoy.

Milo gets snippy

Ainsley says, "I see, show me!"

If I promise to show her, she'll promise to smile first so I can take a picture for her to see.

Who does this remind you of? She acts like her too!

Who does this remind you of? She acts like him too! Maybe we'll have a third to break the tie!

Oh, you know what this look means, it means, "give me whatever I want or I'll scream."

OMG! Who does your hair? He must have like a thousand clients. Is he expensive?

Milo may not be very big, but his balls are.

A birthday pose gone awry.

Holy crap! A candle! Whhhuuaaa, two of them!

Cereal on the floor. It's an AK thing.

Oh you know, just like in AK everyone wears polka dots, pink and red plaid, and princess flats in 6 degree weather.

Rose's first school play, she's winding down from a tough rehearsal with her playmates.

Is there anything you can't find at Costc0?

Luckily mom did her hair for the big day. She's so pretty.
Ainsley is very interested in the moose. Milo, however can't be convinced to stop trying to drive the moose away so we just encourage him to work out his inferiority complex.

The first video cuts out abruptly because Ainsley suddenly decided that if sister could be on stage she could too. I felt like Steve Martin in Parenthood, but I'm sure everyone else thought it was cute.
